Salisburys Local Victim of Active Measures Has Gone Viral Again
Inventing Rob Roy
If you live around Salisbury MA or have ever taken the off-ramp into Salisbury from 95, you most likely know of (or at least have seen) some variation of the above sign posted out in front of a dilapidated looking shack that evidently houses not only a whole person, but a small, private car shop owned by a guy named Rob Roy.
Rob is apparently a mechanic. I found this out after I knew his political affiliation. The way the signs are designed, you have to know his position on national politics before you can know that he owns an auto repair shop. His personal politics take up more space on his signs than his address, his phone number, or his freaking name.
"Always use politics and penises in your signs, it's basic marketing" - Rob Roy, probably.
Anyways.
I looked into Robs Facebook timeline and it tells a very familiar story. He got into politics somewhere around 2015-2016, right around the time that everyones a-political boss/dad/uncle/grandfather was internalizing phrases like "snowflake" and "libtard", phrases they learned on Facebook from foreign-borne, astro-turfed memes that look almost identical to the billboard your looking at if you replaced Kamala with Hillary Clinton.
It's actually hysterical how little imagination goes into these billboards, they are an exact cut/paste replica of the meme formats created by trolls working at the Internet Research Agency, a dis-information campaign run by the Wagner group out of St Petersburg, Russia, who were instrumental in launching Trump into the political sphere in the first place.
The purpose of the Internet Research Agency was for Wagner officials, and anyone they could pay to utilize social media as a weapon in an ongoing information war, where the battlefield is Facebook and the soldiers are poor Russians/Baltics/Middle Eastern people being paid to pretend that they're some variation of Susan McKinley, 82 year old retired dental assistant currently living in Milwaukee that tweets 38 times a day about caravans of illegal immigrants and Hillary selling Uranium to Ukraine and how the United States has to "RESPECT THE CONSTITUTION" while being listed as a "Political Conservative" whose "ABSOLUTELY VOTING FOR TRUMP BECAUSE THE DEMONCRATS WANT TO TAKE MY GUNS".
The purpose of the Internet Research Agency, at the end of the day, was to create Rob Roy.
Create as many Rob Roys as possible, and motivate them to vote.
For Trump. For Conservatives.
Information warfare, in general, is bloodless combat. That being said, it's still combat. It's a test of the mental fortitude of the average voter and their ability to think critically in the moment, versus a vast sea of bad faith actors looking to warp their perspectives on how the world works. Information warfare is ancient, but social media is a brand new tool that gives life to old and forgotten ghosts. The Kremlin, Wagner, and the IRA heavily relied on the average Americans lack of critical thinking skills. They took a calculated risk that the average American voter was so fucking stupid that they could have their morals and ethics significantly shifted by a picture of a politician with big, bold words over it, and they were right.
To an extent. It worked once.
Once was enough.
Left Holding The Bag
There's a reason why this guy keeps going viral for his ridiculous signs, and that reason is because he's an artifact of a single presidential campaigns messaging strategy which has evidently given him a new shade of personality. He's not alone, Roy isn't the only one hosting ridiculous messages out in front of their businesses or homes regarding volatile and toxic politics, but he very much is in the minority. This minority of full-throated, newly minted conservatives who were brought into the fray by memes on Facebook in 2015, who don't engage with actual politics, but rather culture war politics, because culture war politics is a lot more exciting, are now viewed by the average person as objective fucking weirdos.
And, I mean, he is a fucking weirdo. They are all fucking weirdos. The partys over, trump lost in 2020, and all these guys look like are fully dressed up cheerleaders yelling at an empty stadium in the strangest ways possible.
Your idea of expressing your political opinion is to put dicks all over a sign facing a public roadway?
Are you fucking stupid? How is that politics? What exactly are you trying to portray?
Not to mention, Conservative ideology has a very obvious vein regarding keeping children away from sexualized imagery and concepts, so it makes perfect sense to be so mad at Kamala Harris that you decide to expose every child in a car seat to gigantic dicks.
I guarantee if you ask this man how he feels about exposing kids to sex, he would tell you how much it disgusts him. I guarantee it. The irony of hosting a massive sign covered in actual dicks will be completely lost on him.
Know why?
Because he's not doing politics. None of these people are. This minority of psychotic holdouts who were exposed to meme-politics once and now have suddenly fundamentally changed who they are because of it, are lost causes. They were convinced, by extremely stupid means, that politics and complex subjects can be boiled down to bumper stickers, slogans on hats, and billboard signs. This minority doesn't believe in professionalism, legitimacy, education, medicine, institutional governance, they believe in nothing.
Ya know what Rob Roy believes? If he makes a big sign that pisses people off, he's doing politics. These stupid ass signs, legitimately, are considered by Rob and his friends, as legitimate political messaging.
Please, please take 5 seconds to consider how objectively fucking ridiculous that is, and how ridiculous a person must be to put serious consideration into signs like this.
In conclusion, Rob Roy and his ilk keep doing this shit because they had their personalities fundamentally changed by brilliant psychological operations executed by the Kremlin, where they took complex political subjects and boiled them down to Facebook memes, which in turn led people like Rob Roy to believe that complex and intricate subjects were actually really simple, and the whole of the world was over-complicating things in order to fuck him, specifically. These psychological operations focused specifically on Democrats being the enemy, liberals being foot-soldiers of Democrats, and that largely, he was being attacked. By immigrants, by black people, by liberals, by anyone that isn't a straight white conservative man.
And 8 years after 2016, the dust has settled, the game was called, his team lost.
Yet, here he is. Unmoved. Determined. Using his hard earned money to print signs that are supposed to tell you.......something. Something bad your supposed to know. Something your supposed to be afraid of that the mainstream media isnt talking about.
Something that cannot be explained without spelling the words with gigantic dicks.
Must be important.
Actual Conclusion:
Witting assets of oppressive ideologies are evil.
Unwitting assets of oppressive ideologies are idiots.
He's just an idiot.
