It has been 393 days since October 7th.
In that time, Israels response to the attacks have included collective punishment in the form of carpet bombing civilians and civilian infrastructure, stifling and outright denying humanitarian aid to civilians, killing United Nations peacekeepers, precision striking hospitals and schools, precision striking humanitarian aid organizations, including World Central Kitchen, which lead to the infamous Flower Massacre.
Israel has instructed the IDF to intentionally target journalists, kill American citizens, kill healthcare workers from the Red Cross, invade Lebanon, strike Syria, use White Phosphorous (an illegal munition), employ Palestinian and Lebanese civilians as human shields, intentionally target children, the elderly and the handicapped with sniper fire, commit mass rapes, use bull-dozers to run over piles of dead Palestinian civilians, destroy critical infrastructure that allows running water and plumbing systems to function, and destroy/disallow critical medicines and medicinal equipment destined for Gaza.
During this time, physicians, doctors, surgeons and medical professionals the world over, from tens of different humanitarian organizations, have been working non-stop on the Gaza strip in the most inhumane and impossible conditions imaginable, functionally being victimized by American manufactured Israeli bombs all the same as Palestinian children. Thousands of them have died, either from direct IDF rifle, tank fire, malnourishment or disease.
On October 2, 2024, 99 of the surviving physicians and healthcare workers that are still employed on the Gaza Strip wrote a letter addressed to Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. This letter, which describes in horrendous detail what these healthcare workers have witnessed, gives an infinitesimally small window into what Israel is doing to Gaza on the American taxpayers dime. You will not find stories like these on television news in the United States.
Below are some quotes that I cherry picked out of the letter. I highly advise reading the whole thing. More than once.
If you are an American citizen, you are paying for this.
"I’ve never seen such horrific injuries, on such a massive scale, with so few resources. Our bombs are cutting down women and children by the thousands. Their mutilated bodies are a monument to cruelty." Dr. Feroze Sidhwa, trauma and critical care surgeon, Veterans Affairs general surgeon
Every day I saw babies die. They had been born healthy. Their mothers were so malnourished that they could not breastfeed, and we lacked formula or clean water to feed them, so they starved.
Asma Taha, pediatric nurse practitioner
I saw so many stillbirths and maternal deaths that could have been easily prevented if the hospitals had been functioning normally.
Dr. Thalia Pachiyannakis, obstetrician and gynecologist
"With only marginal exceptions, everyone in Gaza is sick, injured, or both. This includes every national aid worker, every international volunteer, and probably every Israeli hostage: every man, woman, and child."
"The rate of infection in C-section incisions was astonishing. Women underwent vaginal deliveries and even C-sections without anesthesia and were given nothing but Tylenol afterwards because no other pain medications were available."
"Israel has destroyed more than half of Gaza’s healthcare resources and has killed nearly one thousand Palestinian healthcare workers, more than one out of every 20 healthcare workers in Gaza. At the same time healthcare needs have increased massively from the lethal combination of military violence, malnutrition, disease, and displacement."
Oxford dictionary defines Genocide as such:
noun: genocide; plural noun: genocides
the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.
Oxford dictionary defines Ethnic Cleansing as such:
noun: ethnic cleansing
the mass expulsion or killing of members of an unwanted ethnic or religious group in a society.

Israel is committing Genocide on the Gaza Strip.
It cannot be overstated. It cannot be ignored. It cannot be swept under the rug, or brushed away, or bureaucratically justified by any politicians in Israel or the United States. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and his war cabinet for crimes against humanity.
This is the result of American foreign policy. This genocide could be stopped, right now, right this very second, by Joe Biden. Joe Biden could simply pull the plug on weapons transfers to Israel and create an arms embargo, right now.
Right. Now.
But he won't. He's fully dedicated himself, and his legacy, to being the president that sponsors Israels genocide both financially and politically. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have also proven themselves to be Zionist apologists, if even just for the campaign trail, which is still wildly sickening in the face of outright American/Israeli imperalist violence taking place out in the open for all to witness.
I don't have to sit here and explain that obviously, Donald Trump would not put a stop to this either. He enabled Israel years ago by moving the embassy to Jerusalem in an attempt to lean into the "reincarnated savior" thing, something even Israel moderates in the US were apprehensive about for a myriad of reasons.
It is numbing to read these desperate pleas from people who dedicated their lives to trying to help others, and it is soul crushing to know that nobody in the Imperial Core is listening. It would seem that allowing Israel to ethnically cleanse Palestinian people in broad daylight is one of the very few subjects that our government can reach a bipartisan consensus on (ya know, other than congressional pay and cutting taxes for billionaires).
In fact, American politicians on both sides of the aisle are so thirsty for Israeli boot sweat that it bled into a debate between Ted Cruz and Colin Allred, who spent upwards of 20 minutes on the debate stage accusing each other of not loving Israel enough. Our congress simply cannot seem to get enough Palestinian blood on their hands. They need more. They need to swim in it.
The last thing I want to point out in this essay, which isn't directly related to the Gaza Healthcare letters, but is no less a damning indictment of the situation and a more salient indication of what exactly Israel has done to the Gaza Strip:
There are over 40 million tonnes of rubble in Gaza. It is estimated that it will take 15 years to clear it all. They are not done bombing yet.
I don't really know how to end this, I can't believe I'm being forced to vote for a pro-genocide candidate because they are simply marginally not as shitty as the other pro-genocide candidate. The only thing thats really on the ballot for the American 2024 election is how comfortable the American population wants to feel while we continue setting the Middle East on fire and decimating the Global South so we can have 3 dollar t-shirts shipped by next day delivery.
I don't know man. It's all fucking awful.
So, vote, I guess. Whatever.
