The Birth of the American Cult Wing (Formerly known as the Republican Party)

As of this writing, it has been roughly 17 weeks since the calling of the election

for Joe Biden by the Associated Press, a bipartisan news organization that has been

calling elections since 1848.

America watched in agony as states meticulously counted votes,

under threats from the likes of Americas cult party members screaming hostilities and brandishing large caliber rifles outside counting centers, to media sources like Fox, OANN and various other bad-faith, sometimes entirely conspiratorial "news" outlets propagating outright lies, to completely superfluous legal filings from the bumbling, galaxy brained, clown car "legal team" of the ultimate cult leader himself, Donald Trump.

I am the furthest thing from a lawyer and even I could see through that nonsense. A six year old could.

A full grown American white male on the internet?

Evidently not.

This election wasn't unlike any in the history of the United States.

The process wasn't any different. You register to vote, show up to the booth, and put your vote down.

That is, if you were lucky enough to live in a town/city that didn't have Louis Dejoys thugs ripping out USPS collection boxes.

If you were lucky enough to live outside a heavily gerrymandered district.

If you were lucky enough to have the ability to leave your house, get in a vehicle, and make it to the ballot box.

If you voted by mail because of the pandemic, or because that's what you've been doing your entire life and its nothing out of the ordinary (because it isn't), then this was an election unlike any other.

The rest is just politics.

Well, today's politics.

If you bothered to click the link to this piece, then I don't have to tell you what that means.

You've either been reveling in it (though the revelers are too busy cooking up some Tucker Carlson and injecting into their eyeballs) or vehemently opposed to it. Few are indifferent these days, there hasn't been much choice in the matter, by design.

That's a topic for another day, however. Or maybe I already wrote about it, I cant remember.

Those politics; "today's politics", are unlike any in the history of the United States.

The politics is what changed.

Before Trump came along, the news was the news. Politics was politics. The fringe wasn't front and center.

You'd probably never heard of Alex Jones before in your life, and you were better off for it.

Now?

Constant bad news. The constant alarm being rung by former

government officials and political experts, the constant warnings from intelligence agencies, the constant downplaying, or flat out lack of acknowledgement of systemic issues from the White House, the constant lies from Fox news, the constant propagation of fake information by incendiary conspiracy channels on social media being amplified by Fox news,

the constant tweeting, the consistency of atmosphere in the rooms of people discussing politics, be it at the bar, at home, or otherwise.

The constant...everything.

Just, everything.

All of it.

It's by design.

But like I said, another day.

It just....it would not stop. For 4 years. Every single day.

It still won't. We're still in it.

A constant barrage of shit thrown at the wall, to the point where you couldn't even discern shit from wall anymore.

You're probably already sick of reading this. Trust me, I'm sick of writing it. (Not really)

But that's not quite what this is about.

This is about your "friends" on Facebook that share the most ridiculous, removed from reality "news" you've ever seen.

This is about the people that wrapped their trucks in Trump skins, and wore Trump hats, and elevated a flag with his name on it to the same level of our national symbol of democracy. This is about the people that called everyone "snowflakes" and "libtards" for 4 years.

This is about the people outside those vote counting centers.

This is about the people that believed in Trump, Fox, OANN, and Facebook.

This is about the people that fell victim to the constant fire-hose of hate we became subjected too sometime around late 2015.

This is about the people that witnessed the last 4 years, in any perspective, and decided they wanted more.

This is about people you run into every single day.

This is about 70+ million American citizens.

This is about the cult that has swallowed the concept of moderate republicans whole, and spit out radioactive vile degeneracy in the form of barely sentient skin suits filled with toxic medical waste that have names like Marjorie Taylore Greene, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, Kevin McCarthy...the list goes on.

See, these representatives I just named have this cute little shtick where they make claims that have absolutely no basis in reality.

Even cuter, they seem unbelievably incapable of saying things like:

"The Parkland school shooting was not a false flag operation"

"Giant space lasers don't exist, are not owned by Jews and are not the reason for forest fires"

"9/11 was not a plot by the US government"

"The Pentagon was not hit with a missile instead of a plane"

"Hillary Clinton did not cut the face off a baby and drink its blood in a satanic ritual".

Everything you just read is what Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert used as a platform to win congressional seats.

Greene, in particular, won her seat by running unopposed.

She wasn't unopposed for the whole congressional race, mind you. She had an opponent at one point.

His name was Kevin Van Ausdal.

He had to drop out of the race because he was receiving so many death threats from Greene supporters that he feared for his family.

Yeah.

The others? The so called "moderate Republicans"?

Well, they seem like they are just A-freaking-OK with all of it.

They have not, and predictably will not, speak out against it.

Whether or not these representatives believe this ridiculous shit is immaterial.

The very sobering fact of the matter is that they have constituents and voters that do.

They have voters behind them that seriously, actually believe that Hillary Clinton eats babies.

They have voters behind them that seriously, actually believe the Democrats are a deep state cabal full of satanic pedophiles.

They have voters behind them that seriously, actually believe our school shooting epidemic was staged by politicians to take their guns away.

They have voters behind them that seriously, actually believe that Q-anon is John F Kennedy Jr, and he is working with Donald Trump to rid government of these pedophiles.

This stuff does not just exist online. You probably know some of these people personally.

It has played out in real life, with real life consequences.

Pizzagate comes to mind.

They are apart of the 70 million that voted for Trump again in 2020. A very disturbingly large part.

And they are all heavily armed.

Now, if you happen to consider yourself a Republican in this day and age, and are reading this and saying to yourself: "That's not me, I don't believe in any of that".

Congratulations, you aren't a cult member.

However, I am just *dying* to know:

Why, in the face of all this, do you still consider yourself a Republican?

What are you holding onto?

See, not considering yourself a member of this volatile circus does not automatically make you a democrat. It doesn't make you a socialist, or a communist, or a space alien, or whatever.

It just means you aren't a *goddamn psychopath*.

However, just because *you* aren't a psychopath, doesn't mean that calling yourself a Republican now won't make people look at you twice and wonder if you do actually believe those things.

The reason for that is way too many of them do, and the Republican party has not lifted so much as a pinky finger to address this insanity.

They probably never will.

Well, that's not entirely correct. Apparently McCarthy "pulled Greene aside" and "had a talk with her".

She spent the last 48 hours scrubbing her social media pages of all these public claims she made.

So I could probably tell you exactly what he said.

Self proclaimed Republicans, read this carefully: Your party has been hijacked by extremists.

You are no longer the Grand Old Party.

Romney Republicans are now the minority.

Your party has been hijacked by extremists, nationalists, literal Nazi's and white supremacists, by way of disinformation campaigns on social media, and it has whipped it's constituents and voters into such a frenzy that they got on a plane, in the middle of a global pandemic, and flew to the Capitol on January 6th, 2021, to attempt to overthrow the government.

Based on a lie.

A Big Lie.

The Big American Lie.

They murdered a capitol police officer with a Blue Lives Matter flag.

They stole sensitive national security information "for the memes".

They brought zip-ties for human restraint.

They brought large caliber rifles.

They planted bombs.

They attempted to find and assassinate sitting congress people.

They wanted to hang Mike Pence.

There were members of congress, that I have named in this article, that tried to assist them via social media.

Lauren Boebert tweeted Nancy Pelosi's location in the middle of the Capitol Insurrection.

All based on The Big Lie, that Donald Trump truly won the 2020 election and the Democrats stole it from him.

Tell me, please, because I'm dying to know: What is the difference between the ideology that motivated these rednecks to storm the Capitol, and the ideology that motivates members of the Islamic State to stage bloody coups and senselessly murder people that don't believe in the same god they do?

Don't shake your head at me. Don't wave your hand. Don't say "suicide vests". The Q-anon believer that killed himself trying to blow up a major AT&T communications hub over a 5G conspiracy blew a gigantic hole in that excuse instead.

So tell me, what is the fucking difference?

Because, I can't really seem to find one.

And I have tried.

Very, very hard.

Self proclaimed Republicans: Your party has been hijacked by the worst that humanity offers.

Traitors.

Turncoats.

Seditionists.

Racists.

Sexists.

Wannabe Confederates.

People that consider themselves the only true patriots in America.

They think they're the good guys.

Heh, so did the Nazi's.

And they are not going away. If anything, they are just getting started.

The American Extremist Cult Party has officially been born, and this is just the beginning.

They have proven that they will resort to violence to get what they want.

They will rely on disinformation to get what they want.

They will plant bombs to get what they want.

They will murder their fellow countrymen to get what they want.

They want to end democracy as we know it, and install a chosen cult leader.

And there are potentially *millions* of them.

Word to the wise, if you hire somebody to fix your plumbing, or something that involves going into your house, and you see a Q-anon, or III Percenter, or Oath-keeper, or Punisher logo sticker on their car with the ironic "blue lives matter" line running through it:

Maybe tell them you're all set, and find somebody else.

Because you genuinely cannot know if something as simple as a Black Lives Matter flag will send them into a conspiratorial rage.

You genuinely cannot know if that person is carrying a weapon, in case they run into Hillary Clinton, or someone they convinced themselves is a pedophile.

You genuinely cannot know if you're going to be targeted by extremists.

You genuinely, cannot know.

To any self proclaimed Republicans reading this: It's time to snap out of it.

Your party has been hijacked.

It's time to get a grip on reality, before reality gets its grip on you.

Because it will.

And it will not end well for anybody.
